Why Singapore is protected from Tsunamis?

Fault lines in Asia

The above fault line is called the Java Trench. As you can see, Singapore is protected by Indonesia from the left. Indonesia spans from the west part of Malaysia all the way to the west of Indonesia. In the event fault lines moving and a tsunami, Singapore if full protected and will not be affected.

The next nearest fault line will be the Philippines plates. It is located quite a distance away and in the event of an Tsunami, the Philippines and Borneo will absorb some of the impact and most likely Singapore will not be heavily effected.
